Hello everyone, thanks for joining us once again at the Provincial Chrysler blog. Provincial Chrysler Windsor is based in Windsor, Ontario, and are proud to serve the areas of Windsor ON, Tecumseh ON, Leamington ON, LaSalle ON, Amherstburg ON, and the rest of the Windsor/Essex area. Here at Provincial Chrysler Jeep RAM Dodge, we’re always keen to bring our customers the latest news when it comes to new releases from our family of auto brands. Speaking of our incredible brands, we are well stocked with all of FCA’s 2019 models, including the brilliant 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Ever since it was launched way back in 1993, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has been known in gearhead circles as one of the most reliably good cars, year on year; so, even if you read somewhere that there’s been a Jeep Grand Cherokee redesign, you can be sure they haven’t “messed with success”! The 2019 model year is no exception to this rule – there are a lot of updates, but despite this, you’re still looking at one of the most capable, comfortable, and captivating SUV experiences money can buy.

Some of the stand out features we’ll cover in greater detail a little later on include;

The Limited X appearance package
Standard blind-spot monitoring
Standard rear cross-traffic assist
Standard Apple Carplay and Android Auto

Exterior

While there have been plentiful changes to the Grand Cherokee over its 26-year production run, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has remained instantly recognizable, thanks to its classic silhouette, and perennial features. Some of these features have always included, and do so to this day; the iconic 7 slot Jeep grille, fashionable, and functional trapezoidal wheel arches, excellent ground clearance, and balanced proportions. The 2019 Grand Cherokee definitely pairs its exceptional abilities, with stunning looks; it has muscular, yet aerodynamic lines, and even before you fire it up, you know you’re in for a great ride. This is truly the best looking Grand Cherokee to date, and the team at here Provincial Chrysler have fallen in love with it all over again.

630 × 800

If aggressive, yet elegant is your idea of a good looking car, then look no further; a prime example of this blend of styling is with the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee’s front and rear lights. Upfront, the headlamps boast a narrow, sporty design, but it in no way sacrifices function! No matter which package you go for, you’re going to get top quality lamps that inspire confidence, even in the very darkest driving conditions. Higher trims and packages feature ultra-bright Bi Xenon high-intensity discharge headlamps – these are really the crème de la crème of auto lighting, and come with a bonus – they offer a significantly longer life than traditional incandescent lamps.

For 2019, the Jeep Grand Cherokee comes a great range of colors, too, in fact, 12 options await to be exact! You’ll have some neutral options for those who prefer a subtle look, such as ‘Billet Metallic’, or a few more ‘out there’ options, like ‘Green Metallic’, and ‘Redline Pearl’. All of the color options are perfectly suited to the sculpted lines of the Grand Cherokee, and no matter which you choose, you’ll surely turn heads!

As well as having 12 color options to choose from, the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee also has an assortment of 12 different standard and available wheel options. At the smaller end, the standard 17-inch Tech Silver aluminum rims are stylish and functional. At the larger end, there are a number of 20-inch options to choose from, too, including choices in gloss black aluminum, polished aluminum with painted inserts, and also in Satin Carbon.

Interior

It’s not called the Grand Cherokee for no reason, and the interior is a first-class experience that lives up to its name. Step aboard and you’ll find luxury, comfort, technology, and quality. This year’s model isn’t playing around when it comes to choice, either. There are no less than 14 different available upholstery options in the 2019 Grand Cherokee. There are dark and light cloth options, leather-faced, perforated leather, leather and suede, and on the range-topping trims, you’ll even find supple Nappa leather upholstery, and opulent Laguna leather, too. Several options come with striking accent stitching, and some with heated front and rear and ventilated front seating, as well; so, regardless of which you choose, you’re sure to feel like royalty every time you get behind the wheel.

630 × 800?

Every Jeep Grand Cherokee 2019 model comes as standard with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, as well as a leather-wrapped gear knob; these comfortable features give a real insight into the quality of this phenomenal SUV. On the subject of steering wheels, if you can’t stand the feeling of a cold steering wheel on the cold winter mornings, why not opt for the 2019 Grand Cherokee’s available heated wheel, the ultimate in creature comforts!

You can take in more of what nature has to offer, thanks to the available Command View Dual Pane Panoramic sunroof. See the stars, bask in the sun, or open it up to soak up all the fresh air you can take!

The luxury experience of Jeep’s 2019 Grand Cherokee continues with high-end features like ambient lighting – this improves interior visibility inside the cabin in dark conditions, without jeopardizing the driver’s outward visibility, while at the same time creating a visually appealing, and sophisticated look to the cabin. Further luxurious interior appointments include available open-pore wood inlays, with contrasting bright trim. The wood is not only beautiful to look at, but it is also a tactile feature that is pleasing to the touch too. The Grand Cherokee oozes authenticity, not only does it make use of real wood as mentioned before, but you’ll also find genuine anodized metal accents adorning air vents, door handles, bezels, and more. competitors are known to use coated plastics in these areas, but Jeep knows that their customers demand the best.

One of the primary reasons that families choose SUVs is space, and one of the reasons that the Jeep Grand Cherokee is the most awarded SUV ever is its no-compromise take on interior space. Jeep’s engineers cleverly configured the interior to provide the maximum cargo volume without sacrificing passenger comfort. You’ll get an as standard 60:40 split-folding rear seat, a cavernous trunk, and heaps of convenient compartments and cubbies for keeping life’s essentials safe and secure.

Tech

Driver centric technology is at the heart of every Jeep Grand Cherokee 2019 model. What else would you expect from such a capable vehicle?

You’ll love the 7-inch, full-color digital information cluster. It brings all of the most important driver information right where you need it! You’ll be able to flip through menus that show engine specs, fuel economy information, active safety system status, speed, navigation, and much more.

630 × 469

This year’s Grand Cherokee comes as standard with one of two of Jeep’s amazing Uconnect infotainment systems, coming in either 7-inch, or 8.4-inch displays.
The 7-inch Uconnect 4 features a touch screen interface, it boasts Bluetooth connectivity, and even Sirius XM Satellite Radio too!

The upgraded Uconnect 4C Nav comes as the standard of many of the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee’s trims, and boosts screen size up to 8.4 inches, and includes premium navigation software. Both systems bring Apple Car Play, and Android Auto, meaning for the first time in the Grand Cherokee lineup, these awesome connectivity features are standard across the entire line up; they are not only convenient, but provide a familiar interface for your compatible smartphone, and also help to improve road safety by providing accurate voice input for messaging, making sure you keep your eyes where they should be – on the road! The touch screens offer features like pinch to zoom, too; this makes for an experience more closely aligned with that found on a phone or tablet, and that makes the system so much more intuitive.

The Uconnect 4C Nav also brings with it a whole host of additional benefits and features from the Sirius XM suite, including their flagship Guardian System. Guardian is a system that interacts with the Uconnect app and brings a large range of safety, security and convenience features like:

630 × 391

The ability to call for assistance from the emergency services
The ability to call for roadside assistance in the event of breakdowns, flat tires, or any other non-emergency vehicle issues
The ability to set up alerts by text or email if your Grand Cherokee’s security alarm is triggered
Stolen vehicle assistance; this feature can help law enforcement to locate your vehicle should it ever be stolen, and assists in the recovery process
Remote start functionality lets you fire up your Grand Cherokee from anywhere that you have a data connection on your compatible smartphone – ideal for being able to cool down your car on a hot day, or warm it up when it’s cold; never again will you have to step into an uncomfortable vehicle! Not only that but if you’re planning a long trip away from home, you can start up your vehicle from time to time to turn over the motor, too!
One of Provincial Chrysler Windsor ‘s favorite features of Sirius XM Guardian is the parking lot location function. We’re sure we aren’t the only ones who have misplaced our cars in crowded parking lots; well no more! Guardian can send the exact location of your Grand Cherokee right to your smartphone or smartwatch, such a simple concept, but extremely convenient in our opinion!

Music lovers will delight at the available premium sound system from Harman Kardon. This is for sure one of the finest speaker sets available in any vehicle on the market; it includes an incredible 19 speakers placed strategically throughout the cabin, with the low end powered by a powerful 10-inch subwoofer. In all, it adds up to a rich audio experience unmatched by anything offered in competitor’s SUVs.

Capabilities

Provincial Chrysler cannot overstate just how capable the 2019 Grand Cherokee truly is. In an age of ‘Sports Activity Vehicles’, cross overs, and let’s face it posers, Jeep has continued to do what they’ve always done, make vehicles that are as comfortable in the dirt as they are on a road – in essence, the real deal.

Take, for example, the ‘Trail Rated’ models (Trailhawk and other trims equipped with the all-weather trail-rated package, or off-road adventure II group), this isn’t just a fancy badge – it’s a medal, a symbol that this vehicle has passed the toughest off-road tests Jeep could throw at them. We’re talking tests of traction, ground clearance, maneuverability, articulation, and even water fording. Some of the features that ensure excellence on Trail Rated models are:

An anti-glare hood decal that reduces visible glare for easier assessment of upcoming obstacles
Skid plates for protecting the underbody
Signature red tow hooks to help you (or for you to help someone else) out of almost any sticky situation
The Quadra Drive II 4 x 4system with a rear electronic limited-slip differential capable of transferring 100% of the Grand Cherokee’s power to a single wheel when necessary
Off-Road Pages, a feature living with Uconnect, gives you real-time info relating to your off-road adventures, elevating your experience to the next level

Jeep has taken decades of their off-road knowledge and poured it into their various available 4 x 4 systems. These systems, both mechanical and software-based, turn this comfortable family cruiser into an all-terrain beast. Rain, snow or shine the Grand Cherokee can handle it all.

Take advantage of the available Selec Terrain system, a driver-selectable traction control system that manages how much power is driven through the front or back wheels depending on the settings and prevailing conditions; this improves handling significantly and improves safety by increasing traction.

Powering the Jeep Grand Cherokee in 2019 are 4 choices of engine:

630 × 1025

3.6 Litre Pentastar V6
It features 295 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque and boasts impressive fuel economy thanks to standard electronic stop-start.

5.7 Litre HEMI V8
This available engine puts up impressive figures, including 360 horsepower, and a huge 390 lb-ft of torque; this means a max towing capacity of up to 7200 pounds! This rivals many trucks and is a rare feat in an SUV. Fuel saver technology in this engine choice cleverly shuts down cylinders when power demand is low, increasing fuel economy significantly.

6.4 Litre HEMI SRT V8
The 6.4 litre HEMI SRT V8 is a force of nature when combined with the raw natural abilities of the Grand Cherokee. It puts out a heart-pumping 475 horsepower, backed up by 470 lb-ft of torque, for incredible pulling power. It makes available 5 drive modes, including auto, sport, track, snow, and tow.

Supercharged 6.2 Litre HEMI V8
This engine is a game-changer; do you want the world’s most powerful SUV?! Well, with this choice, exclusively available on the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, it can be yours. It boasts an astonishing 707 horsepower, and 645 lb-ft of torque. Provincial Chrysler believes it deserves more attention – read on to find out all about the 2019 Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.

Trackhawk

The 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk enters the unprecedented territory in the SUV world. What a time to be alive; a Jeep with more power than the latest model from Lamborghini! Trackhawk generates a mighty 707 horsepower, thanks to the Dodge Hellcat derived supercharged motor. Feel like drag racing? Why not! With that much power, combined with an advanced launch control system and torque reserve system, you’ll hit the quarter-mile in a hair over 11 seconds. It features high strength forged alloy pistons, powder forged connecting rods, and even sodium-cooled exhaust valves, all signatures of the world’s finest performance vehicles, and they feel right at home on the Jeep Grand Cherokee.

600 × 400

Helping to keep everything pointing where you aim it, is the Jeep Quadra Trac active on demand 4 x 4 system; it takes advantage of a full-time active transfer case to put the power down to the road in any driving condition.

Providing cold air to that massive supercharger, a subtle scoop located in the lower front fascia. A high tech cooling system keeps the charge air under 140 degrees F, yet lets the motor gulp up an astonishing 30,000 liters of fresh air every minute!

Solid performance also requires amazing braking power, and the Trackhawk SRT has it in bunches thanks to the premium Brembo braking system. This setup features two-piece 15.75 inch slotted rotors and 6 piston front brake calipers, finished in an eye-catching yellow color.

Just like the Trail Rated models provide real-time off-road info, the SRT, and Trackhawk models provide real-time track data like 0-60 times, g force and dyno information on the performance pages screen via Uconnect.

Safety

The 2019 Grand Cherokee is not only a comfortable place to sit but a safe one too. This is thanks to the advanced high strength steel construction, 7 standard airbags, and a chassis designed to deflect impact energy away from the cabin. Safety is clearly Jeep’s number one priority, and that’s why you’ll find over 70 standard and available safety and security features in the 2019 Grand Cherokee, including:

Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path Detection

600 × 400
Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) is for the first time, a standard feature across the entire Jeep Grand Cherokee line up. This system takes advantage of radar technology to detect the presence of other vehicles entering the blind spot of yours. The sensors trigger visual alerts to warn you of someone encroaching on your blind spot, backed up by an audible alert if a turn signal is turned on in the direction of the danger.

Rear cross-path detection is also now a standard feature on the Grand Cherokee; it uses the same sensors as Blind Spot Monitoring to detect any potential danger from crossing traffic when you have the reverse gear engaged.

Park View Rear Back-Up Camera & Standard Park Sense

Park View expands your view of your surroundings while reversing. It is especially helpful for backing up into parking spots, allowing you to slip in with the greatest of ease. The Uconnect screen is utilized as the display, and dynamic gridlines guide the way, projecting your path depending on the wheel position. Alerts will flash on the screen, and audible alerts will sound if a collision hazard is detected.

Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist
600 × 400

This advanced system is the future! The available Parallel and perpendicular park assist takes the agony out of parking and helps you maneuver into the tightest spots with ease. With the push of a button, the system takes care of the steering for you and provides guidance on when to use brakes and accelerator.

Lane Sense Lane Departure Warning
Lane Sense is an available lane departure warning function that can improve occupant safety by notifying the driver both visually and audibly if it detects that the vehicle is drifting out of its lane. In the event that a drift occurs, and no action is taken by the driver, Lane Sense will automatically, and gently steer the vehicle back into its lane with no input required from the driver.

Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking

600 × 400

Thankfully full speed frontal crashes are rare, but when they do occur, they rarely end well. Jeep has made available the Full Speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking System, it’s a mouthful to say, but this system really is a lifesaver. It uses sensors to detect an imminent collision, it will then produce audible alerts. If the driver doesn’t brake hard enough or takes no action at all, the system will intervene with brake pressure in an attempt to reduce the severity of an impact, or hopefully avoid it altogether.
